Dalla località con lo stesso nome, situata sulle rive del lago Sewan, provengono preziosi tappeti il cui disegno ha poca attinenza con le classiche geometrie caucasiche, anche, se per la qualità dell’annodatura e il rovescio piatto e levigato, sono paragonabili agli Shirwan. Essi presentano su un fondo generalmente scuro,file di “Boteh” in sequenza alternate su tutto il campo centrale. Le composizioni sono completate da una elegante fascia a foglie di quercia affiancata da bordure secondarie, oppure da una ricca cornice fittamente decorata.
From the village of the same name situated on the shores of lake Sewan come precious rugs whose design has little reation with classic Caucasian geometric forms even if they may be compared with the Shirwan for the quality of their knotting and the flat and smooth reverse sides.On a generally dark background are laid line of “Boteh” in alternate superimposed sequences over the whole of the central filed.The compositions are completed with an elegant band of oak-leaves flanked by secondary bands or with a rich, thickly decorated frame.
